How to use ChatGPT as a Product Manager
I think we are getting past the time that the discussion was focused on “how the bad AI is going to take our jobs” while entering a more mature discussion on how exactly the AI is going to assist us in our jobs.
As a Product Manager, I have been very intrigued by the power of AI tools that are popping up faster than annoying ads in freemium mobile games.
I already used ChatGPT along with other tools in my day-to-day activities. Either to brainstorm, challenge my own ideas, or even visualize and explain my thoughts better to my team members. Especially when they think I am having a stroke during calls when I start losing my words.
Below I came up with a story in a setting that is supposed to be familiar to the product management bunch. Show me one PM that is not familiar with LinkedIn’s feed.
And so our story begins.
Our hero is a product manager working for LinkedIn, specifically, he is the lead, responsible for the user’s home feed content. Some meetings took longer than expected and here we are, late at night, staring at a blank document with the title “Sprint #234234 proposal” (ok! ok, I know this is oversimplified, but you get the point), when the idea hits him, “I am going to try ChatGPT that everyone is talking about!”:
